In a new study, scientists from Japan and the UK concluded that by 2033, the use of robots will enable people to spend 39% less time on everyday household tasks. The team polled 65 experts on artificial intelligence (AI, computer technology that lets machines imitate human intelligence by learning as they go along).

The AI experts were asked to make predictions about which of 17 tasks were most likely to be handled by robots within 10 years. These tasks—such as grocery shopping, dishwashing, cooking, laundry, and taking care of children or the elderly—are mostly performed by women.
