The Walt Disney Company announced on November 20 2022 that former CEO Bob Iger will come back to replace Bob Chapek as the new CEO to navigate this company for the next two years, a move that kindled a truly crass number of excitement in the entertainment industry.
Later after the announcement, the Disney board chairperson Susan Arnold thanked Chapek in a statement for his outstanding leadership “during this tumultuous era of pandemic.”
The chairperson said all the directors believed it is the right decision to put Iger back to help the company steady its entertainment behemoth in an increasingly complex industry transformation.
Iger later said in a statement that he was “thrilled” to be back and “extremely optimistic” about the company’s future.
“I am deeply honored to be asked to again lead this remarkable team, with a clear mission focused on creative excellence to inspire generations through unrivaled, bold storytelling,” Iger added.
